1. Introduction

Welcome to Desi Shelf Sort ("the Game", "we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you install and play the Desi Shelf Sort mobile application on Android devices.

We respect your privacy and are committed to complying with the Google Play Developer Program Policies, Google AdMob Publisher Policies, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and applicable data protection laws.

2. Personal Data We Do Not Collect

Desi Shelf Sort does not require user registration, account creation, or sign-in. We do not directly collect, store, or transmit your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, camera feed, microphone audio, or precise GPS location on any external server operated by us.

3. Local On-Device Game Storage (SharedPreferences)

To save your game progress offline on your phone, the Game stores the following non-personal gameplay data locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences:

  • Unlocked Level & High Score: Tracks your highest reached level and top score.
  • Virtual Coin Wallet: Stores in-game coins earned by completing levels (starting balance of 200 coins).
  • Booster Inventory: Stores remaining charges for Freeze (+15s), Auto-Match Triple, and Shuffle Shelves boosters.
  • User Preferences: Stores Sound Effects (On/Off), Vibration/Haptics (On/Off), and your Ad Personalization consent choice.
Instant Data Deletion Control: You can permanently erase and reset all locally stored game data at any time directly inside the app by opening About → Terms & Data → Reset All Saved Game Data, or by clearing the app's storage in your Android system settings.

4. Google AdMob & Advertising Disclosure

Desi Shelf Sort is a free-to-play game supported by advertisements provided by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). The Game integrates three types of ad placements:

  • Banner Ads: Displayed in a dedicated dock at the bottom of the screen, separated from gameplay slots to prevent accidental clicks.
  • Interstitial Ads: Full-screen ads shown only at natural breaks between levels (for example, after every 2 completed levels or when returning to the Main Menu after Game Over). Never shown during active countdown gameplay.
  • Rewarded Video Ads (100% Optional): Only played when you voluntarily choose to watch an ad to receive a free booster charge (+1 Freeze, Auto-Match, or Shuffle) or a +30 seconds timer revival.

Information Collected by Google AdMob

To serve, measure, and prevent fraud in advertisements, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and process certain device and diagnostic identifiers, including:

  • Google Advertising ID (AAID): A resettable, user-controllable identifier for advertising on Android.
  • Approximate Location (IP-based): Coarse geographical region derived from your IP address to show relevant language and regional ads.
  • App Interactions & Ad Performance Data: Ad views, clicks, and reward completion events.
  • Device & Diagnostics Information: Device model, screen dimensions, OS version, crash logs, and performance metrics.

5. Your Privacy Choices & Opt-Out of Personalized Ads

You have full control over whether you receive personalized or non-personalized advertisements:

  • In-App Ad Consent Toggle: Inside the game, tap About → AdMob & Privacy (or Privacy & Ads on the Main Menu) and switch "Personalized AdMob Ads" to OFF. When disabled, the app immediately appends the non-personalized ad request flag (npa=1) to Google AdMob requests.
  • Android System Settings: You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time on your Android device via Settings → Google → All Services → Ads → Delete advertising ID / Reset advertising ID.

6. Android Permissions Used

The Game requests only minimum, install-time permissions required for core gameplay and ad delivery:

android.permission.VIBRATE Provides gentle haptic feedback when selecting items, matching triples, or using boosters (can be toggled off in-app).
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID Required by Google Play Services for AdMob frequency capping, fraud prevention, and user-consented ad delivery.

8. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction). All gameplay progress is stored strictly on the local device. If you are a parent or guardian and have questions regarding ad settings, you can disable personalized ads inside the app under About → AdMob & Privacy or delete the device Advertising ID in Android Settings.

9. Terms of Service & Virtual Items

  • Virtual Coins & Boosters: In-game coins and boosters (Freeze, Auto-Match, Shuffle) are virtual gameplay items with zero real-world monetary value. They cannot be exchanged, sold, transferred, or redeemed for real money or physical goods.
  • Fair Play: Modifying APK files, tampering with local storage, or automating ad impressions is strictly prohibited under Google AdMob and Google Play policies.
  • Changes to Policy: We may update this Privacy Policy & Terms page periodically. Any updates will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
